“Dhyana Moolam Gurur Moorti, Pooja Moolam Gurur Padam
Mantra Moolam Gurur Vakyam, Moksha Moolam Gurur Kripa”
"Meditation starts by recalling Guru's image. Worship begins at Guru's feet. Guru's word is the beginning of a sacred chant. Ultimately, Guru's grace leads to salvation." This is an informal translation of the above Sanskrit Shloka from Guru Geeta.
Guruji has been the source of light for me in this journey of music. The purity, strength and emotions in Guruji’s Swar guide me all the time. I have learned a lot about perfection, professional excellence, commitment, dedication and creativity in Guruji’s presence. Guruji is an outstanding artist and I feel blessed that I have been able to learn from her in the Mewati Gurukul. For more information about Guruji, please visit www.triptimukherjee.com.
As a school boy, I had heard Bade Guruji several times in Sawai Gandharva Mahotsav in Pune. I had no idea that one day I will be able to learn from him. Every time I listen to him sing, I sense divinity. Every time we meet and talk, I learn something new and I appreciate his greatness. Bade Guruji is a giant force in music and he is also very witty, kind, affectionate and warm. For more information about Bade Guruji, please visit www.panditjasraj.com.
I am also indebted to Acharya Gurujis Pandit Ramesh Narayanji, Pandit Suman Ghoshji, Pandit Mukesh Desaiji, Pandit Ratan Mohan Sharmaji and Shri Anup Jalotaji for the guidance I have received from them from time to time. Of course, this was possible because of Pandit Jasraj Institute of music. For more information, please visit www.pjim.org.
